While Laurel Springs is an online school, they have a unique passion for the community. One of the annual signature events is the “Year End Celebration” event. Graduating seniors from around the world gather for in-person graduation and underclassman attend prom…just like any brick-and-mortar school. This unique community gathering opportunity sparked an idea to hold the first-ever video interviews of students and families.
After gathering a list of attending families, I contacted them to pitch the project in hopes of having them register for an interview time while they were in Anaheim, CA. The sign-ups were a success and we filmed a dozen families over the course of 2 full days. While we had rough topics to spark the conversation, these stories are truly their own, we were just there to set up the make-shift studio, make them feel comfortable and confident, and hit record. These families truly are special.
Our deliverables for each video were 1)full video 2)individual section soundbites which were used throughout our digital marketing channels to help provide social proof and testimonials.
My role was to direct and approve all creative production including:
+ Point-of-contact for all families, internal stakeholders, external support teams, and contractors
+ Developed the production strategy, registration process, key topics
+ Video graphic and animation direction and development
+ Approvals and soundbite direction
